O God, You Have No Rest!

O GOD ... YOU HAVE NO REST !

When I rise from my sleep

Without fail, I will utter a short prayer

"Lord, me at your side, you must keep,

So as to protect me from any danger."

When I settle down to dine

Without a second thought, your grace I will implore

"Lord, thank you for this meal, so fine,

But do feed me with your love more."

When I feel the lack of your absence

Without shame, I will cry unto you

"Lord, guide me through, with your presence,

And I will feel good with someone to turn to."

When I go through a period of exam fever

Without any hesitation, I will invoke your aid

"Lord, during this stress, forsake me never,

And I know you will be my final assessor, though unpaid."

When I am strolling down a dark valley

Without any doubts, in you, my fears will hide

"Lord, I am sure you are accompanying me,

And that I will be kept close to your side."

When I am in a state of depression

Without delay, I will dash to your inviting arms

"Lord, overwhelm me with your soothing expressions,

And guard me from all hurts and harms."

O God, I have not given you any rest,

Always demanding you to fulfill my requests.

All day, I have not heard you complain,

Instead, you only took away all my pain.

Oh! Bedtime has approached, its time to relax.

Sorry God, I made your day so complex.

Now let me give you some time of your own,

But, Alas! I need you to save guard my soul!
